MUS 197A College Choir
Focuses on preparation and performance of choral literature from a wide variety of styles and periods. Performs one major concert each term, and occasionally other concerts on or off campus. Credit: 2
MUP 114 Central Singers (Vocal Jazz Ensemble)
This is a select group of singers that focus on various jazz idioms: blues, funk, latin, and straight-ahead. Recommended corequisite MUS 197A College Choir. Enrollment is by audition.
Musicianship IA, IB, IC, IIA, IIB, IIC
MUS 114/115/116/ MUS 214/215/216
Focuses on developing practical skills necessary for any musician. Builds aural acuity through drill and practice in ear training, sight reading, and music dictation. Keyboard (piano) exercises will be an important part of development. Course is designed to be taken concurrently with MUS 111 (Music Theory). Credit: 2
Private Voice Lessons MUP 074, 174, 274
Focuses on the individual's development in vocal production through proper warm ups, breath support, tone quality, and music literature will be prepared that is appropriate to the level of the student's musicianship. Instructor's approval is required and is scheduled based on the voice student's schedule.
